It’s really quite rare for hotel bedrooms to have the sort of scale and proportion as Pulteney Junior Suites. Vast sash windows allow you to make the most of the quite exceptional views of Great Pulteney Street, while lofty ceiling heights only add to the feeling of grandeur.
Martin Hulbert Design wanted to create schemes which would sit beautifully within the existing historic framework of the building, with the pale chalky colours being inspired by the stripped-backed walls, and see-through plexiglass furniture maintaining the sense of light and space.
A contemporary four-poster bed and curious collections add to the feeling of drama, while also being connected with the history of the world heritage city. You’ll also find a seating area in which to relax and feature art on the walls.
Beautiful big mirrors, marble-topped wash stands with bespoke hand basins, free-standing baths and artisanal Bamford body and skincare products are the mainstay of the spacious bathrooms, while feature lighting throughout the suite lets you tailor the ambience to your mood.
Many of the wonderfully spacious Henrietta Junior Suites have been reimagined by Martin Hulbert Design, they feature a supremely luxurious super-king bed and possess beautiful views over Henrietta Park and Great Pulteney Street.
The muted, individual colours in many of these rooms are inspired by the colours in the plasterwork when the stripped-back vision of the building began to reveal itself, and so are in keeping with the original Georgian framework and sense of history.
Clear plexiglass furniture maintains the feeling of light and space, while curious collections all add to the sense of joyful intrigue.
Lovely big bathrooms feature mirrored walls, marble-topped wash stands with bespoke hand basins and artisanal Bamford body and skincare products. You’ll also find a particular focus on statement lighting throughout, which lets you tailor the ambience to suit your mood.
Large Deluxe Double rooms are generous in size and feature a wonderfully luxurious king-size Hypnos Lansdowne Cashmere bed and rooftop or garden views. You’ll find a supremely comfortable seating area, as well as curious collections of art and the sort of feature lighting that gives the room real wow-factor. These rooms are also ideal for families.
The soft, neutral colour schemes ensures the art can take centre stage, while a large individual bathroom with marble-topped vanity unit and exquisite Mitchell and Peach bath and body products from an English family farm, all help to create the sort of sybaritic experience you won’t want to end.
Deluxe Double rooms are some of the most individual in house, with many of them having been designed by local interior designers, who have used their elegant proportions and high ceilings as the canvas to their own unique theme. Each feature wonderfully luxurious king-size beds and most feature views out to Great Pulteney Street, Henrietta Park or the garden.
Local interior and garden designers Woodhouse & Law celebrate the curious by combining interesting combinations of materials, colour and texture with fun and playful twists. In their ground floor room, the starting point is Tracy Kendall’s Inventory wallpaper, while an over-sized sunshine-hued headboard above the bed, tall pendant lights and design-led statement furniture complete the theme.
Rossiters of Bath have created Good Afternoon and Good Evening rooms, which are inspired by the changing light at nearby Henrietta Park. Its rose-covered pagoda and sensory garden by day translate into a fresh and calming scheme filled with flowery abundance, while by night, you can expect an enchanted forest.
Exotic bird wallpaper adorns the ceiling and contrasts with a luminescent silver on the walls. There are accents of indigo, jade, and burnt orange in the Matthew Williamson curtains, while a silver cocktail cabinet and burnished black side tables with parrot lamps complete the look, creating the ultimate flight of fancy.
Nearly all of the Cosy Double rooms are to be found up on the Artists’ Floor, and while compact in size, they also offer a wealth of features, from a luxurious Hypnos Lansdowne Cashmere double bed and bird’s eye views over Great Pulteney Street or Henrietta Park and the rooftops beyond. Each of these characterful rooms has been imaginatively designed by No.15’s owners, Ian and Christa Taylor, painted with natural Ed Bulmer heritage paints and many of them come complete with bespoke wall murals created by local artists.
Expect to find cabinets of curiosities, a dressing table complete with mirror and stool, as well as wonderfully unique bathrooms with marble wash stands topped with copper hand basins and Mitchell and Peach bath and body products.
Newly reimagined by No.15’s owner Ian Taylor, all of the Coach House Deluxe Double rooms are individually designed in muted shades from pale lemon to light grey, accented with bright pops of colour and playful pieces of art.
Each features a supremely comfortable king-size bed and has views out towards the main house of the hotel or Henrietta Park.
All of these can also be made into twin rooms on request.

Set back from the main house, and to be found right next door to the park, the Coach House is immediately recognisable with its mock Gothic-façade, crenelated parapet and quatrefoil windows.
With a few steps up to the entrance of the Coach House, these rooms aren’t accessible for wheelchair users.
Each of the Coach House Junior Suites is wonderfully unique, both in terms of colour palette – which ranges from warm shades of pinks or peach paired with grey to calming dusky blue and yellow – and striking features.
There might be fireplaces or quatrefoil windows and each is in possession of a supremely comfortable king-size bed – which can also be twinned – vast pieces of statement art and wonderful ambient lighting such as statement floor and table lamps and a coffered ceiling edged with LEDs which you can tailor to suit your mood.
Spacious bathrooms feature luxurious free-standing baths for two, rain showers, Mandarin Stone fittings and beautiful Bamford bath and body products. These elegant rooms have views out over the treetops of Henrietta Park or main house of the hotel.
Set back from the main house, and to be found right next door to the park, the Coach House is immediately recognisable with its mock Gothic-façade, crenelated parapet and quatrefoil windows. With a few steps up to the entrance of the Coach House, these rooms aren't accessible for wheelchair users.
