Villa Foscarini Cornaro, built in the middle of the sixteenth century and home to the highest names of 'Venetian aristocracy', is a Renaissance architecture gem set in the green Venetian countryside, just a short distance from the ancient Roman city of Oderzo and a few kilometers from Venice and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Lady Elizabeth Foscarini Cornaro was born of one of the most prestigious families of Venice, the Cornaro's. This noble woman was 4 times named to the ducal throne, and her sister, Caterina Cornaro, became Queen of Cyprus.
In 1712 she married the "Attorney of San Marco" Pietro Foscarini. The groom was born October 26, 1680 and held the office of "Captain of Vicenza."
On August 29th, 1745 Pietro Foscarini died, leaving his widow Elizabeth all his possessions.
Elizabeth also called the "Procuratessa" retired to the Villa in "Gurgo Muleudimorum" where the main activity was the production of silk and the harvesting of grains.
Elizabeth became friend and lover to Marco Foscarini, the fifty-ninth Doge of Venice and brother of her deceased husband, Marco and Elizabeth lived and remained the owners of Villa Foscarini Cornaro until the year 1811.

SALA POZZO
This room of Ristorante Foscarini was originally home to the racing horses of days ago, this now warm and elegant room is adorned in gold and white with French style furnishings and accents.
The ladder that led to the attic of this stable, which now cozy and stylish “Soppalco Marocchino” is still on display as well.
But the centerpiece of this room is the old water well.
It no longer holds water but is still full of rare treasures including forgotten recipes of the Veneto tradition as well as new interpretations of classic fare.
SALA A RIGHE
Originally this room also housed the stables, and remnants of its inhabitants still remain along one of the walls in the form of the original horse hooks.
This room is also decorated in honor of its racing past with the red and white colored stripes of the team on display on the walls, along with multitudes of art works with rural scenes and horse riders.
Another notable piece in this room is the Murano glass chandelier in the “Ca’ Rezzonico” style with pastel colored crystal and pink roses.
SOPPALCO MAROCCHINO
This now loft which overlooks the Sala a Righe and is above the Sala Pozzo is decorated in an elegant Venetian style which blends harmoniously with Moroccan influenced lanterns and damask pillows.
