CONCEPT
Heir to a long tradition of hospitality, the Risorgimento Resort in Lecce reopened the doors to hospitality of excellence after a very careful renovation in 2007, which embellished its interiors with contemporary art design and restored the true splendor of the exterior.
The building is purchased in 2002 by the Montinari Group, that in May 2004 undertakes the renovation and enlargement work. The restoration doesn’t involve any invasive interventions on the facade that preserves the architectural style of the design period, the late 1800s.
Within, a part of the building is subjected to a conservative restoration, because of the constraints of the Superintendence; the part behind is demolished and rebuilt and the building expanded by the annexation of the Martirano Palace and Church of Charity.
Everything is studied in detail and on drawings: the architectural plan is entrusted to an expert in hotel design, architect Bartolomeo Conterio, while the interior design is curated by architect Luca Scacchetti.
In the hall the scarlet bunches enlighten benches and seats like in a sunny square of the Salento. TV monitors become windows on the Salento offering images of the territory.
All this makes the Risorgimento Resort a hotel with a modern concept, born from the splendors of an old historical house, that gives you new travel emotions.

Salento is a land of perfumes and flavours, colours, nuances and minor contrasts, of typical local materials and traditions, of events, art and culture, and of details that create a magical balance that seems to stand still in time.
In the Salento everything seems possible, it is a place where the idea of getting away from everything becomes a reality, the true Italian exotic dream and with a rich historical background.
A journey that follows the contours of the heel of Italy, from the Adriatic to the Ionian seas, through the Messapic remains of Egnazia and the seating in Lecce’s Roman amphitheatre, to the area’s Medieval fortresses and Baroque cathedrals.
And then there is the fish market, the crafts shops, the illuminated festivals and processions, the frenetic “pizzica” rhythms and a welcome to warm the cockles of the heart.
