DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE
The hotel's architecture draws on the elemental nature of the Irish landscape and combines it with a sleek urban aesthetic, creating an experience that is distinctly Irish and truly inimitable.
Inspiration comes from the geometric shapes that exist naturally on the Island, from the rugged Burren Landscape to the unique hexagonal stones of the Giant’s Causeway.
Construction work started on The Marker in 2005 and following a change of ownership was completed in April 2013.
Rising up from the rich urban heartland of the Dublin Docklands, the hotel slots seamlessly into one of the most vibrant cultural hubs of Dublin City.
Modern, fresh and contemporary in design - The Marker's clean lines resonates with neighbouring Bord Gais Energy Theatre and Grand Canal Square itself which was designed by Martha Schwartz.

Art is an intrinsic part of the Marker experience. Drawn from the creative pedigree of some of Ireland’s most celebrated artists, the pieces of art were carefully selected to surprise, challenge and pique your curiosity.
There’s something really special about Enda Cavanagh’s dramatic landscapes, which capture a quality of light found only in Ireland.
Barry McColl’s haunting portrait of Saoirse Ronan lends a more ethereal touch. And if you happen upon Dorothy Cross’s ‘Ghostship’ at night, you’ll see it glow through the darkness.

In the four years since opening the hotel's doors, the hotel's team has evolved the food and beverage offering at The Marker through listening to the guests and looking for new ways to innovate.
These efforts have transpired in the hotel's Le Drunch each Sunday, and clean eating Equilibrium programme which can be seen on menus in each of the outlets and in the ever changing array of cocktails.
When developing the ideas, the hotel's team looks at what the guests have told, emerging international trends and at all times, sticking to the philosophy that good food is simplicity executed perfectly.
