The light-filled Royal Bebel Suite is designed in the style of a turn-of-the-century Berlin apartment.
It has 3.2m-high ceilings, hardwood floors, a video access monitoring system and a 25m-wide balcony overlooking Bebelplatz.
The suite opens onto a study area which leads to an enfilade of rooms.
The sitting room is decorated with contemporary and antique furniture and a library with over a thousand books; it also has a virtual surround sound system.
The bedroom has a king-sized bed and a walk-in wardrobe.
The dining room is served by a kitchenette, with a service entrance; there’s also a guest shower room.
Historical flourishes, contemporary decoration and sweeping views combine in the Humboldt Suite.
The living room’s oak-covered ceiling dates from 1889 - the year the bank was built.
Enter the bedroom through leather-clad doors and sleep under the original beams in a king-sized bed.
This historic suite also has a dining table and a separate guest powder room.
One of the historical suites, the Historic Banker Suite was formerly a bank conference room; original oak panelling covers the sitting room walls and ceiling; old phone booths have been cleverly converted into a wardrobe and bathroom; discover the bookcase’s
hidden door and the secret compartment beside the window in the sitting room, which also has parquet flooring, a large working desk and a dining table.
The three well-appointed Executive Suites are on the top floor of the hotel.
Each has a small terrace or balcony overlooking Französische Strasse or St Hedwig’s Cathedral.
Some of these one-bedroom suites also have a dressing room or a guest powder room.
One of the historical suites, the Behren Suite has five metre-high ceilings and magnificent views of Bebelplatz; there’s also a dining table in the sitting room.
Historical touches include leather-clad doors, parquet flooring and walls covered with the original mahogany veneer.
This light-filled suite was once the office of bank manager Eugen Gutmann.
It is one of four historical suites at Hotel de Rome, with high ceilings and distinctive features.
