HISTORY
The Park Hotel, now Alma del Lago Suites & Spa was a beautiful wooden building with a turret that was notable for its carefully crafted set of roofs. It had 14 rooms, most with bathroom.
It was built by the Huber family, from the countryside osorninas in Chile, who opened it for a short time and soon they chose to return to their place of origin.
When the property was sold, Eduardo May and his wife, natives of Switzerland, bought it giving new life to the establishment.
The main attraction of the hotel was its location, situated some distance from the din of the mill and bustle of downtown.
He added his beautiful architecture, location and an exquisite garden that reached the lake shore in a place of huge stones that create small repaired beaches.
One of them was up a berth for two or three rowing boats that were at the request of its customers.
It additionally had a tennis court, the only one in Bariloche, hidden inside a giant garden and flowers very carefully among groves of cypress.
A handful of colourful pheasants ornamented the place, during the day, they would roam freely across the land, and their nests where in a colourful wooden shed, sheltered among the trees.
In May 1936 the marriage decides to expand and remodel the hotel structure by hiring Miguel Angel Césari, well known architect and town planner of National Parks.
Masonry and green stone covering was used in the walls, for who they hired Yugoslavian stonemasons that where currently working in construction at Bariloche.
Time passed and the stablishment had several different modifications, them being to finally transform the simple place into a 3 stars hotel.
In 2002 the Gressani family: Enrico, Elda and their children bought the place to transform the historic place into a five-stars luxury hotel.
In the 50's, Elda and Enrico began their Hotel bussines and management with Nevada's hotel being their most important icon. Enrico, son of a cabinetmakers family, born in Italy, led the architectural and estetic side of the proyect, using his 40 years of hotel constructor experience.
There are 95 luxury rooms, meeting guests' demands to perfection. Hotel also has for families connected rooms.
All of them are equipped with TV cable, safety box, mini-bar, individual heating and free wi-fi internet access.
