The Inn of the Five Graces has been a personal project for Ira and Sylvia Seret. In their creation of the Inn’s unique spaces, they have indulged their shared passion for artisanal craftsmanship, vibrant color, sensual textures, and the romance of far-off lands.
The Inn showcases their design skills and houses countless fine pieces from their vast collection of ethnic antiques. Through the Inn, the Serets extend to guests their love of Santa Fe, together with their memories of ancient cultures’ hospitality and artistic traditions.
HISTORY
In one of Santa Fe’s most historic neighborhoods, designers Ira and Sylvia Seret, transformed a neglected cluster of traditional adobe buildings into a unique hotel.
As internationally-known importers of exotic antiques, rugs, textiles and architectural elements, the Serets conceived the hotel as a showcase for their combined creative talents.
From its 1996 opening as “Serets’ 1001 Nights”, the 24-suite hotel has been a magical retreat, brimming with the most exquisite of the Serets’ treasures, collected on travels through Central and South Asia.
Sylvia Seret’s glorious, one-of-a-kind tile mosaics adorn the suites’ kitchens and bathrooms, while Ira Seret’s signature design style makes every space an extraordinary living experience.
In 2002 the Inn was renamed to honor its sensuous atmosphere along with its many Afghan and Tibetan artifacts. The name, “Five Graces”, refers to an Eastern concept — the five graces of sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste.
Each needs to be honored in the full experience of life. Over the years, the Serets’ original vision has been continually developed with meticulous attention to excellent service, cuisine, and comfort as the Inn has grown into newly acquired properties on its historic street. They continually enhance the hotel’s visual experience, updating design elements and collection pieces throughout.
In January, 2010 Sharif Seret took on the management of the property, bringing a focused dedication to creating a world class hotel with unparalleled service. The Inn’s mission is to offer guests a uniquely unforgettable experience.
All of the deeply luxurious guest suites are small worlds of their own — carefully planned oases of beauty and relaxation. The rooms evoke a time when every object was made by hand, expressing the spirit of its maker. All have wood-burning kiva fireplaces, some have private balconies.
Nearly all feature king-size beds and restful sitting areas. Bedrooms, sitting rooms, and secluded patios are adorned with lush textiles and furnishings thoughtfully designed to offer all the comforts of home. The exquisite bathrooms are magnificent in their own right.
Vivid with hand-laid tile mosaics, they invite soothing soaks by candlelight. Double sinks, deep soaking tubs, and separate showers are adorned with scenes in intricate, colorful tile.
The bathing spaces have been carefully designed to nurture reflection and rejuvenation. Relax, and let the artwork take you to a contemplative place beyond the ordinary.

It’s easy to see why Premium One Bedroom Suites are one of hotel's most requested accommodations. Located on both sides of the property, all suites open to courtyards or patios. You’ll find it hard to choose where to linger: the king bed, sizable sitting room, or sprawling bathroom where you’ll find intricate semi-precious stone inlay of onyx, marble, lapis, or jade.
Supremely rich and inviting, Premium One Bedroom Suites allow your senses to revel in luxurious tapestries, plush carpets, and acclaimed Seret & Sons furniture pieces.
Take in the sights and then retreat to spacious luxury. Premium King guestrooms are located on the south side of the property and surround a shared courtyard. These expansive quarters feature king beds and uniquely designed interiors by Ira Seret.
All bathrooms boast exquisite walk-in showers and luxurious deep soaking tubs for the ultimate relaxing getaway.

The Five Graces, near everything downtown, is just two blocks away from the Plaza and the Palace of the Governors, and is right in the heart of the city. The Inn is adjacent to the Santa Fe Playhouse and directly across Old Santa Fe Trail from the oldest church in the United States, the San Miguel Mission.
The cultural, historic and retail centers of Santa Fe are just blocks from the Inn, as is Canyon Road, a lively thoroughfare of galleries, shops and restaurants. The area around the city is magnificent and well worth exploring. You will find at Bandelier National Monument the ancient, 12th century cliff dwellings of the Anasazi. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains span the horizon east of the city and the Jemez Mountains stretch out to the west.
To the South is the famed “Turquoise Trail,” a breathtaking route through the heart of New Mexico, which crosses the Sandia Crest and wanders through the old mining towns of Golden, Madrid and Cerrillos – now hubs of theatre, art and music.
The high mountain town of Taos is famed for its epic skiing. Within the Santa Fe basin there is hiking and whitewater rafting, mountain biking and fly-fishing. The area is also noted for mineral springs, spas, hot air ballooning, horseback riding through the mountains, and the world’s most varied environment for golf.
Santa Fe, high desert city of stone and adobe, is an American treasure. There is no place like it anywhere in the world. And the Inn of the Five Graces is the most luxurious, magical, hospitable place from which to set out every morning to experience it.
Bandelier National Monument protects early evidence of human settlement in the region going back 11,000 years, such as historic petroglyphs and ancient masonry.
The gated courtyards and lantern-lit gardens of the Inn are magical spaces for special occasions. The staff can plan any celebration from a romantic fete for two to a grand gala for a hundred or more.
Originally Spain’s seat of government for the region, the Palace of the Governors today is a museum chronicling nearly 400 years of New Mexico history.
Santa Fe Plaza is home to some of the finest shopping in town and some of the best art festivals in the world.
