The Totem will open its doors starting December 18, 2015, the first of a new concept of mountain hotels that will give rise to additional Alpine destinations such as Avoriaz with Terminal Neige - Gare in years to come.
Le Totem building, located at Flaine Forum directly facing the Picasso Totem, incarnates the architectural style in which the snowy urban landscape was built in the 1960’s, a style conceptualised by Marcel Breuer, the architect having worked in the notorious German school of architecture and design - Das Bauhaus.
In a modern architecture that binds the esthetically pleasing with the functional, le Totem is a living work of art and life that melds beautifully with the sports, the culture and the collective experience in Flaine.
The interiors are designed in an ethnic spirit, with woven, woolen fabrics inspired by Native American culture, vintage furniture and an urban soul integrating the latest technologies.
The confrontation of raw materials in their pure state, the juxtaposition of concrete and the chestnut furniture, custom-designed by Jean-Louis and Nicolas Sibuet, all this surrounded by woolen fabrics in ethnic patterns, it is in this atmosphere both intimate as well as artistic that one discovers the 96 rooms of Le Totem.
