Set in the heart of the prestigious Jardin Alpin, Cheval Blanc Courchevel’s understated and elegant interiors are the work of renowned interior designer Sybille de Margerie. Starting with sumptuous materials traditionally associated with mountain living, De Margerie has added a contemporary twist, offsetting wood and seasoned bronze tones with a palette of warm reds and oranges. Set in the prestigious French Alps, next to the Mont-Blanc (Europe’s highest summit), Courchevel 1850 is located in the world’s largest ski domain.
The resort offers outstanding snow quality and a great diversity of ski slopes for beginners as well as experienced skiers. On top of its impressive ski domain, Courchevel 1850 offers many attractions with its slopes restaurants, six Michelin-awarded fine dining restaurants and a diversified range of non-skiing leisure activities. The resort is also known for its festive and glamorous nightlife that contributes to its international appeal.
HISTORY
Since its creation, Cheval Blanc Courchevel has established itself as an exceptional retreat at the summit, flirting with the snowy peaks. Space, pleasure and comfort come together beyond the mountain tops.
At the heart of the French Alps in the prestigious Jardin Alpin, Cheval Blanc Courchevel is an inviting and intimate Maison to surrender oneself and gather with others. In a truly contemporary spirit, a high-altitude stay is reinterpreted with boldness and modernity.
Revisiting the preconceived notions of mountain design, with bold colours and a collection of original works of art, architect Sybille de Margerie highlights the unique personality of each space throughout the Maison.
The sophistication and sensuality of precious materials – cashmere, fur, leather – play softly with the elegant contrasts of steel, bronze and brushed brass. This reflects Cheval Blanc’s vision of hospitality: made to measure.
ART
Art, ever-present and ubiquitous, is a journey of pure pleasure for the eyes. Wherever the gaze may fall, a work of art acts as an invitation to a realm filled with beauty. Season after season, the keen curiosity of Cheval Blanc Courchevel seeks new works and artists that harmonise with the Maison’s never-ending quest for delightful aesthetics.
Crowning the Maison, the Bruno Peinado horse is perched majestically on his throne.
On the slope-side, Xavier Veillant’s iconic bear keeps an eye over skiers whilst Jean-Michel Othoniel’s delicate pearl necklace sparkles in the immaculate white surroundings.
Inside the Maison, the collection of art expands each year. Works by Gursky, Murakami, Pivi and Lagerfeld fall seamlessly into the décor and captivate the eye in different spaces and time of day.
COURCHEVEL 1850
Jewel of the French Alps, Courchevel 1850 is one of the most prized ski stations. The ideal location provides access to the largest ski domain in the world, the Trois Vallées, which spans to cover nearly 600 kilometres of slopes.
The restaurants offered throughout the ski resort celebrate diversity. Numerous après-ski activities and a nightlife illuminated by a festive ambiance give Courchevel 1850 its celebrated international appeal.
Courchevel is accessible by car from Paris, Lyon and Geneva airports as well as Chambéry and Moutiers train stations. An airfield is also available for private charters and acts as the ideal point of departure to discover the Trois Vallées by air.
