Kongebrogaarden is a 5 star hotel, situated in the beautiful landscape along Lillebaelt. The hotel is characterized by its timeless architecture; tastefully designed interiors, classic furniture, and art.

THE HISTORY
Kongebrogaarden is designed by the architect MAA Soren Juel and built in 1990. In 1994 and 1998 the hotel was expanded.
First with the addition of a a large hall to conferences and special events, then with the addition of 14 suites on the 2nd floor - all with a large balcony with views of both the forest and beach.
The location has a long history. First as a ferry station for the King and his court, then as an inn, a headquarters for forester farm, and a summer restaurant.

1864. The original Kongebrogaarden burnt down.
1865. Kongebrogaarden was re-built as a headquarter for foresters.
1922. Summer restaurant.
1943. German occupation.
1945. Re-opened as a resort after many years in disrepair.
1989. Burnt down to the ground (by a vagabond with a cigarette).
1990. The new hotel Kongebrogaarden.
There are 62 nicely appointed, 5 star rooms. All rooms have a balcony or a terrace with a view over the water, forest, property, or the atrium.
Every room contains Auping elevation beds, B&O flat screen TV, air conditioning, light hardwood floors and beautiful textiles. In addition you will find a safebox, and desk.
Of the 18 suites at the hotel, 2 are "King Suites" which measure 110m2 with open fireplace, view over the water and 2 balconies.
There is free internet connection in all the rooms.
The kitchen is Scandinavian/classically inspired, with focus on quality local produce. All of which is prepared with a lot of love.
It is of utmost importance to team that the food served in restaurant is of the highest quality.

Hans Christian Andersen’s Childhood house here is a cottage built in 1805 in the then poorer district of the town of Odense.
