HISTORY
Situated a few miles off the north-east coast of Antigua, the island became part of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the Americas in 1493.
It was Columbus who named Antigua, from an icon, `Santa Maria de la Antigua’, found in the Cathedral in Seville where he was laid to rest. Long before Columbus, a people called Amerindians, or ‘Arawaks’ inhabited Antigua around 3000BC.

Richly combining the impressions of a traditional colonial home with a contemporary perspective, The Estate House’s redesign, led by acclaimed designer Dennis Irvine, represents a modern interpretation of the Colonial spirit.
