HISTORY
The name Avondrood means Evening Red and loosely translated as Sunset Red. You’ll need to come and witness the amazing views for yourself as the photographs can’t seem to capture its pure beauty and brilliant colours.
The original Victorian building dates back to the 1870 and is now a local heritage site. The breakfast and buffet is served in the welcoming guest house kitchen with ample seating in the lounge accompanied by a roaring fire on the cold mornings or a sunny patio next to the garden on the warm summer mornings. The original architecture and wooden ceilings of this Victorian building makes for the perfect atmosphere of a quaint bed & breakfast.
The entire guest house and garden of Avondrood was refurnished (in 2011) with a contemporary elegant style while still maintaining its roots from French and African cultures. Its most recent addition of two new garden rooms (built in 2015) have received raving guest reviews. Accentuating the building and surrounding lush gardens, this guest house has so much to offer.
