Today, the word "luxury" has been degraded by overuse.
Everything has its "luxury" component nowadays… from coffee blends to detergents.
But in the view of experienced, demanding luxury travelers, "luxury hotel" has to mean something specific.
The hospitality at Lonno Lodge hotel is an experience on its own, that will exceed your expectations.
Isn't this what Luxury is meant for?
It should be added that Lonno Lodge directly faces the sea.
Outdoor life on the coast is also positively influenced by a constant breeze, there are no sources of noise, no traffic or pollution; there is only the silence of the surrounding nature, the waves that break on the barrier, and the chirping of birds.
Why should the hotel have enclosed the guests in a sterile room with only the sound of an air conditioner?
The challenge was easy and difficult at the same time: bestowing the spacious internal living spaces with the same conditions achieved outside in the shade, and making sure it doesn't overheat during the day.
THE TOWER ROOMS
The observation tower was the first to be built and still today it's the highest building on the property; it has 4 double rooms in front of the sea with a wide view on the ocean and the reef, and a magnificent view also on the natural garden.
Each room has a distinctive touch, from the cozy Deluxe with terrace or patio, up to the Top Tower with exclusive and private access to the roof terrace.
They all share the same distinctive style and atmosphere that made the Lodge renown among international guests for its unique combination of modernity and tradition.
The furnitures, made on purpose for the rooms by local artisans, are completed with local artworks, paintings and canvas.
THE HISTORICAL SUITES
The Suites were built using old construction techniques to allow the guests to savour times past.
Times that are not made exclusively of drums and the wild nature of the collective imagination, but also from times when the exchange of goods from Africa's interior, like gold, ivory and spices, fostered the coast's expansion, producing a lingua franca, a distinctive culture and a characteristic architectonic style: Swahili.
Lonno Lodge is a mixture of styles and different shapes, almost as if the different populations also came in waves during the building process, rebuilding it, reorganising it and changing it around.
And leaving their various imprints behind.
This design method also required the recovery of materials and techniques which, without the assistance of energy and chemistry, have made the buildings very hospitable.
The 4 Suites share the same charme and atmophere, and differ in size.
